GPU: Up to Voodoo3 3500, Rage 128 Pro, Riva TNT2 Ultra, GeForce 256 SDR/DDR, Matrox G400 MAXġ. 32-bit colors and textures (except Voodoo3 and possibly other 16-bit only capable HW), Lightmap lighting and full details 1024x768 resolution (windowed mode also allowed)ģ. Just type "timedemo 1" in the console and then run demo001.Ģ. Version 1.11 or demo 1.11 is reccommended though. GPU period-correct (my favorite 🤣 ) only limits the GPU, you are free to use any CPU and MB you want. I did some research and (most) of the allowed hardware is written at the start of each category. CPU & GPU period correct must use CPU + GPU + chipset launched before December 31st of that year. So I've prepared four period-correct rankings for years 1999-2002 - each split in two parts. Q3A launched at the end of 1999 and the last (official) patch 1.32 was released sometime in 2002 I think.

The game started life as a port of Quake III: Team Arena, only to evolve into the game it's today.

A demo version is available, this demo contains the maps Introduction, Arena Gate, House of Pain (including the challenge "Short on Time"), Arena of Death and Temple of Pain and the characters Crash, Mynx, Phobos, Ranger and Sarge.
